Kids’ Health Matters is a Community Interest Company also called a social enterprise or a not-for-profit company
It was founded in 2008 by Katie Barnes and Diane Scott as a way to bring together the innovative professionals working in new roles and new ways to deliver care for children (e.g. advanced paediatric nurse practitioners or APNPs).

Since then Kids’ Health Matters has continued to develop this primary objective but has widened its remit to include:

  • Leading the education, training and continuing professional development (CPD) for advanced paediatric practice
  • Collaborating in the development of UK child health policy
  • Contributing to paediatric service redesign and improved models of children’s health care across the UK
